The Origin of Bradman/Bradmon
The very first record of the family name Bradman was found in Norfolk, which is located in England. The Bradman family traces their ancestral roots back to Anglo Saxon orgin before the year 1100. From here they branched and migrated, gaining prosperity as a notable family of England and later other countries.

~William Bradman~
Was born in Maryland October 22,1811 and he is of English decent. His Father John Bradman emigrated from Maryland and settled near Searight PA in 1812. John married Mary Winset of Maryland and they had 12 children: Ellen, Pricilla, Ketura, Tabitha, William, James, John, Nacy, Rachel,Agnus, two other children died in infancy. Williams Father died when William was 8 years old, when he was then bound to Abraham Vale, a Quaker of Searight with whom he remained until he was 16, after which he worked at farming for different persons till he went to learn his trade. The chldren whom their widowed mother unable to provide for, were scattered. William learned the trade of carpenter with Robert Graham, of Indiana county, PA, in 1829-1832. He worked at his trade for about fourty years in Fayette county PA.
The Marraiges of William Bradman
William married twice. In 1833 to Jane Dearman, daughter of Alexander and Jane Dearman of Jefferson Township PA. They had two children: Mary Jane who died at the age of twelve, and John A. who lived in Lansing Michigan. In 1840 William married Hannah Wolf daughter of Jacob Wolf of Franklin township PA.Their Children: Ann, Jacob, Austman, George,William H., Kate, Agnus. Jacob and Austman died in infancy.The sons were carpenters and barn builders. Hanna died in 1887, age seventy five years seven moths and twenty eight days.
George married Catherine ARISON, daughter of William ARISON and Susannah WHETSEL. George and Catherine had nine children and raised seven of them. The first son Seldon Bradmon (this seems to be where the name spelling changed) Seldon married Plasant LEE daughter of Thomas LEE and Nancy NOBLE. Seldon and Pleasant had two children: Thomas Lee and Dorothy.Thomas married Bess O'BRIEN daughter of Richard O'BRIEN (AKA-BUCHANNA) and Atta BURWELL. They had three children, two twin girls that died in infancy and my Father Richard Thomas Bradmon.

The National Society of DAR is the final arbiter of the acceptability of all applications for membership. Membership in DAR is open to women at least eighteen years of age who can prove lineal bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving United States independence.
