2. DANIEL3 WETZEL(WHETSEL) (JOHANNES(JOHN)2 WETZEL, CONRAD1) was born 1757 in Northhampton County, Pennsylvania1, and died 02 Sep 1835 in Fayette County PA. He married ELIZABETH JOHNSTON LEFUSE Abt. 1780 in Dunlap's Creek Pres. Church F. Co. PA.. She was born Abt. 1756 in Franklin Twp. Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and died 05 Feb 1845 in Fayette Co. PA.

Notes for DANIEL WETZEL(WHETSEL):

Daniel was left 495lbs. Sterling in John's Will in 1809(a significant more then the other siblings) and he gave his rebellious Son 10 yrs. to claim it or it would be split between John's descendants. Daniel was Moravian Educated and later left his Family, changed spelling of name and settled in Fayette County. When the 10 yrs. is nearly up a Daniel claims the sterling, which it could of been Daniel Jr. who went to claim it, after the claim Daniel Jr. and others (including George) purchase land in Fayette county and Daniel Jr. settles in Union County, Indiana and some of his children receive land from their father in Indiana. 2/2/05, I got a exciting phone call "Daniel is officially a Patriot" From M. Prinzing Thanks to all her efforts in putting together the Documentation he is going to be listed on the DAR registry as a Patriot, 12th. VA Regiment of the Continental Army. The additional fact the DAR found was that Daniel was living in Westmoreland County, PA in 1777 before he joined the 12th VA Regiment of the Continental Army. Marilyn had not found that in her research so Daniel was already in SW PA way earlier then most people believed. ( Marilyn, believed that Daniel was in SW PA at a earlier date then most). We have to Remember that the area called Fayette County in 1777, had not yet been formed (named Fayette County) but it is possible that Dan was actually living in Fayette County, which is where he met Elizabeth and not in N.J. like some people believe.

Other: Documentation, The 12th. VA Regiment of the Continental Army recruited at Fort Pitt, West Augusta co., VA which is now Fort Pitt, Allegheny Co., PA. "The Carnegie Library at Pittsburgh showed that dual recruiting was going on at Fort Pitt due to the border war between VA and PA., NARA records, two VA regiment books, National book of men who served, and a Fayette Co., Pa history stating that Elizabeth (Whetzel) Freeman's father served in the Revolution and fought at the Battle of Brandywine. And possibly a supposed History of Union Co., IN in which its stated that the father of the early settler Daniel Whetsel, Jr. Has fought in the Revolution

Notes for ELIZABETH JOHNSTON LEFUSE:

Elizabeth- Widow of William Lefuse (Revolutionary War? No evidence) Son Samuel Lefuse (Lafuze-later spelling) was born in Fayette Co. after father's death according to Lafuze Descendents so Elizabeth was living in F. Co. before Rev. War? A Marriage is recorded in N.J. for William and Elizabeth- Burlington, N.J. Nov. 29, 1775 (Colonial Marriage License Information of N.J. Pg. 221). Son Samuel Lefuse B. Sept. 12, 1776, Pennsylvania; died Jan. 11, 1860, Liberty, Indiana. A Picture of Samuel Lefuse found in the Genealogy Division of Indiana State Library. Underneath Samuels photo is printed: his birthdate and on the next page is a picture of Dunlap's Creek Presbyterian Church established in 1774. One of the lines states that this is the Church where Samuel Lefuse and nine of his children were Christened. The Church is located in Fayette Co. (Info. from M. Prinzing). Daniel and Elizabeth were probably married in Fayette Co. at Dunlap's Creek Pres. Church. they are not in the N.J. MarriageBooks. There is a Minister of the name of Johnston listed in Fayette County that could be Elizabeth's Fatherwhich could explain the move to F.C., PA. She could of traveled with her Family, or William and after his death married Daniel. 7/9/06, Dunlap's Creek Pres. Church-See Fayette County Gen. Project Site, thier are a number of Johnston's listed and a Minister.

April 14, 2006-Visited Smock and found Old Redstone Cemetery, the Church is no longer it was converted into a House. I spoke to the Family that takes care of the small grave yard. And they are sending me the cemetery record. Most of the people in the small grave yard are relations including Daniel and Elizabeth Wetsel, Daniel and Susan Whetsel, Daniel and Rachel Whetsel, Jordan, McCoy, Hill, Hess, Arison Families ....It was exciting to share with my father Raymond and Aunt Dorothy who although their Grandmother was raised down the street (Tippecanoe) and they walked the road as children with friends they were not aware of their Grandparents and other family members in the grave yard. The grave yard is very well taking care of but due to the stones facing West most of the stones are unreadable or starting to be due to the West ward wind and rains on the Mountain. 12/10/06, In a Book on Fayette County edited by John Jordan, it states that George Whetsel was a cousin of Lewis Wetzel the famous Indian fighter. I've been trying to link us all together and I think I finally have.

William Arison 1820 - 1889 married Susannah Whetzel 1825 - 1908 on 27 Oct 1842 They had 9 children. George, Catherine (see below), Elizabeth, Amanda, Mahala, Matthew (see below), Campbell(see below) and Sarah.

Catherine J Arison 1847 married George Bradmon 1846-1922, they had Seldon Bradmon 1867-1905 who married Pleasant Lee 1869-1953, they had Thomas Lee Bradmon 1902-1981 who married Bess O'Brien 1902-1937, they had Richard Thomas Bradmon who had Linda and Lois.

Campbell Arison 1857– not sure who he married, but according to the 1910 and 1920 census, he had a grandson named Harold L Arison 1898 married Ruth 1894 and they had a son named Harold L. Arison Jr. 1919-1998. He had a son named Lindsey Arison III born in 1951 who lives in Calif with his wife Wendie.

Matthew S Arison 1854–1934 married Anna Mills 1856, they had James Clarence Arison 1877-1963 who married Olive May Johnson 1874-1953, they had Bessie Pearl Arison 1896-1971 who married Stewart Franklin Melvin Miller 1891-1965, they had 10 children. Earl, Marian (see below), Benjamin, Bertha, Elinora (see below), Velma, James (see below), Ethel, Stewart (see below) and Bobby.

Marian Genevive Miller Fried married Harvey Fried, they had Karen Fried (my cousin Karen) who lives in Calif with her husband Dave and their daughter Chloe. Elinora Laverne Miller Nimmo (is my aunt LaVerne)

Stewart Franklin Miller Jr. married Shirley Anne Geigley, they had (ME), Suzanne Lee Miller Kowicki

James Clarence Miller married Lois Rice, they had Richard Miller (my cousin Rick) And that is how we are all realted.

Linda, Lois, Karen, Rick, Lin and I are all in the same "generation".

LaVerne and my Dad are in the same generation as Richard Bradmon and Harold "Lin" Arison Jr.

Interesting enough, Susannah Wetzel had a sister named Jane who married her second cousin Stephen Wetsell. I am also in touch with their descendants. Marilyn is a member of DAR with Susannah and Jane's grandfather, Daniel having served in the American Revolution. I am currently filling out my paperwork and once that is done, I will get anyone else in touch with Marilyn so they can do the same if they are interested in joining DAR. Marilyn is in the same generation as my Aunt LaVerne, my Dad, Richard Bradmon and Harold "Lin" Arison Jr. I really hope that I did not confuse anyone. Suzanne
